I would like to know how many people have used POR 15 and on what parts of the car. I don't have a rust problem but I'm looking at using it on my sub frame suspension parts and underside of the car.

I'm also looking at using the engine coating kit that they make, it comes in the chevy orange.

Do you guys like spraying it or does it brush as well as they say?

Thanks Toppoff68 RS/SS

You may want to use 'search' in Body section as there are TONS of posts with info. on POR. Its used widely by many TC members here. Some spray it on, others like myself use foam brushes. I loved the orange on my intake and front of the block. I used the black on my front end detail too. You must follow their directions tho. :)

As click said, tons and tons of posts on por, definitely a love it or hate it kinda thing, with the hate it mostly coming from pro's who have the resources to "Do it right."

The pro's are right, of course. The best way is to cut out all the rust, replace it with new metal, and use pro grade products and techniques to refinish.

but.... we don't all have those resources

I plead guilty to por.

I used it on the back third of the bottom of my car and the rear wheels wells 6 years ago with virtually no prep. It's still there, no rust coming back.

I've used it on lots of other parts since, I've also used thier chassis black and their engine paint.

The engine paint is bulletproof. DX330 wax and grease remover, a very mild solvent, take krylon and similar engine paints right off, it doesn't hurt the potr at all.

The stuff brushes on on easy, self levels well.

One refinement I've made to my technique. The directions say to recoat when it's still a little sticky because the topcoat won't stick once the por 15 cures. Problem is, with the exception of more por15, the topcoat will "pull" when you brush it on before the por is completely dry, and the brushstrokes will show. This is true with the engine [aint and with their chassic coat. Lately, I've been misting the sticky por with sapray bomb rustoleum primer to give it some tooth, let it cure overnight, then topcoat. That works good.
