The front fenders on my 67 were replaced before I bought it. The space between the front of the driver's door and the fender appears ok when the door is closed. However when the door is opened they lightly contact each other. Looking down from above at the gap it appears that the crease on the fender is not at the same angle as the door - it seems to flatten out at the crease. I was wondering if it is possible to raise the lower edge of the fender to force it to "bow" out, or do I have a bad fender. In that case I would have to increase the gap. Any experience with this one? http://www.camaros.net/forum/confused.gif

If this were a Honda like I work on you could simply bend it with your hands http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif But your Camaro is MUCH to strong to do it that easy. You can bend it but it takes removeing the bottom bolts, pulling out the bottom of the fender so you can stuff a block of wood in behind the brace at the rear of the fender and then pushing in on the bottom.

I would start with a "spoon". A body spoon is a flat tool about two and a half inches wide by six inches with a slight curve in it. Then there is a handle on it. You can stick the spoon in between the panels and lean it towards the higher panel. This will bring in the high side and bring out the low side. If you were to use a screw driver or something you will bend the panels so don't do that. A spoon doesn't cost that much so check out the nearby paint store and get one.
