I have a DUI (Davis Unified Ignition) HEI distributor on my race car. For some reason the magnetic pickups in it keep fouling out. I replaced them two months ago and the new set are already bad. What in the world is causing them to foul out so fast?? There are no electronice at all in the car. Only a battery, HEI distributor, and guages. Could there be a problem with the tachometer causing the problem?

Please define fouling out??? exactly what is happening?

The car dies at an idel, pops bad under half throttle, big loss of power. I replace the magnetic pickups and it runs fine.

What does DUI have to say about it ? They would have been my first phone call.
