Thanks topoff68 RS/SS clwilcox33 Jul 22nd, 06, 12:07 PM Absolutely! dawg Jul 22nd, 06, 02:12 PM definately YES! and dont forget the bracing for the vert aswell! Mike68RS Jul 22nd, 06, 02:19 PM Especially in a convertible. Mike Larger Dave Jul 22nd, 06, 02:21 PM You have my permission! :D Bgonz 69 Jul 22nd, 06, 03:33 PM I will agree with all of you, a good idea but they are not a necessity. My '69 convertible has a 450 hp 454 and has gone 12.68 @ 110 in the quarter. No frame connectors. The body hasnt/doesnt distort from the power, and my doors open and shut without problems. If you have a solid car with good floors/rockers,you'll be alright. Of course they cant hurt, and might be a good idea if your looking to race or rough it up a little, i've never done mine because i see no need. topoff68 Jul 22nd, 06, 04:12 PM I have heard that it is not necessary I just think that it would cheap insurance. 77thor Jul 25th, 06, 10:05 AM I have heard that it is not necessary I just think that it would cheap insurance. with that engine, it is necessary purple69ss Jul 25th, 06, 01:37 PM I'am installing a 427 in my 68 convertible. should i put sub frame connectors on it? Thanks topoff68 RS/SS No doubt about it!! DenRS Jul 25th, 06, 02:47 PM I would. Competition Engineering subframe connectors are less than $150 at least for the coupe. A small price for a little added strength. donbe Jul 25th, 06, 03:30 PM Be sure to weld them in. Bolt-ins will just work themselves lose in short order. scblucam Jul 25th, 06, 07:53 PM Unless you like twist, yes Jon13 Jul 26th, 06, 07:20 AM Not to hi jack a thread, but do you have to cut to convertables reinforcements under the back seat? Will be welding up bolt ins. |
