I'am installing a 427 in my 68 convertible. should i put sub frame connectors on it?

I will agree with all of you, a good idea but they are not a necessity. My '69 convertible has a 450 hp 454 and has gone 12.68 @ 110 in the quarter.No frame connectors.The body hasnt/doesnt distort from the power,and my doors open and shut without problems.If you have a solid car with good floors/rockers,you'll be alright.

Of course they cant hurt,and might be a good idea if your looking to race or rough it up a little, i've never done mine because i see no need.

I have heard that it is not necessary I just think that it would cheap insurance.

I would. Competition Engineering subframe connectors are less than $150 at least for the coupe. A small price for a little added strength.

Be sure to weld them in. Bolt-ins will just work themselves lose in short order.

Not to hi jack a thread, but do you have to cut to convertables reinforcements under the back seat? Will be welding up bolt ins.
