OK, I've searched and searched this topic and all the threads read the same.

<Hapless owner (me)>
"The front leaf perch bolts spin."

<Helpful Team Camaro Poster>
"Grind the heads off and fish the old bolt/clip out of the frame. Oh, and the new J nuts from the catalog vendors are crap so get some from a body shop or hardware store."

Great advice. However, I'm hoping to line up my clips before I take the grinder to the car. Therefore, I have no idea what size J nut clips I should be shopping for. Does anyone have data on the bolt size, thread pitch, panel thickness, and offset from the clip edge to the bolt centerline?

My guess is 5/16 x 18 with a half inch from edge to center? If so then McMaster Carr seems to have what I need:

McMaster Part #90679A200 (http://www.mcmaster.com/nav/enter.asp?pagenum=3046)

Does that seem right?

The one's I bought are heavy-duty spring steel sheet metal that is cone-punched and the threads are roll-formed in the cone-hole!

VERY good STRONG clip-nuts, imho!!

I bought the same ones that pdq67 used. I bought all 6 from NPD. I didn't have exactly the same problem you have, I just could NEVER get the bolts back into the nuts. I struggled for 3 hrs. I replaced them all (6) and the bolts went in and I was done in 20 min both sides. DO yourself a favor and get the nuts pdq referenced.

Use antiseize on the bolt/nut combo. You'll appreciate it later in life.
