guys,

im about to put speakers in my 67 camaro and im looking at all the kick panels with cutouts for 4x6 speakers. one thing i notice is that the vents (for non AC car) on these reproduction kick panels look like they dont have a "pull knob" to open the vent and also, the vent door looks like a solid square cover where as on my original kick panels, the vents were round/oval grates.

anyone know where i can get some "original" looking kick panels with holes for my speakers?

maybe i just have to by new repops of the non speaker/non AC kick panels and dremel out a place for the speakers...

your thoughts?

Do a search for "custom auto sound" in the Interiors section. That company makes pre molded kick panels for 67-8 with 4x6's. There are others who have put slightly larger ones in also (in original kick panels).

It was pretty easy to cut the holes with a box knife.

Ive seen the custom autosound ones. if you look at all the pictures, it looks like theres no control knob for the vents and the vents are just "doors" ... not grates like the orginal.

Yeah, i saw yours a week ago and liked what you did. Great choice on the speakers too cause ive had those and ill probably put those in my camaro.

my only problem is that i dont want to cut up my orginals so im probably going to go buy repops and then do what you did.

one more thing, are 67 and 68 kick panels the same thing? if not, whats different?
