Just a thought
I am considering removing my convertible top and frame .I need to replace the top,it is never up when I drive the car. My thought is to install a hard boot with speakers.I would hold on to the old parts.

Any thoughts

The idea is interesting, if you want to do it, go for it. I re-did my top with the idea of using it in cooler weather to extend my season. I removed the frame, had it powder coated. Replaced all the seals. Replaced the top with Haartz cloth and glass window. I have had friends tell me they actually like the look of the car with the top up, looks rich and new. Personally I enjoy riding with the top down and the look of the vert, but it is nice to have options. I have 4X6 Infinitys in the kickers, 4" Infinitys in the rear panels below the ash trays, center dash speaker and a 12"trunk woofer. No sound problems and still retain a stock look. Still, I would like to see the set-up you mentioned, alternatives are great.

No, I believe that with the headliner, folding the top would be more difficult and bulkier once folded-making the boot when used even tighter than it is already. The "new" frame looks good, but a headliner would probably be nicer. It may be even quieter. I don't know of anyone with a liner, if you do I would be interested in their experience with it. Like I mentioned I try to drive with the top down as much as possible and store it (any length of time) with the top up as recommened, so ease of operation is important.
