The way i figure it, a really nice '69 small block convertible is worth 25-35k. As far as value goes......i've learned over the years if your planning on building and cashing out,you should always build what people want.Meaning color, engine choice, trans ect...... That way you open your market to more people,Thus.....its worth more money.

There isn't a lot you can do to hurt the value of a 1st gen, besides a full on Pro Street conversion (right Bob?). Even then it doesn't "hurt", you just don't get near the return.
Strictly bolt on parts like the hood and intake don't "hurt" much. Changing to a 4-speed and cutting the hole for that can "hurt" the value in some peoples eyes. Color change doesn't "hurt", as long as the color you choose isn't too out there. You may want to search here for photos of Olympic Gold 69s, because it isn't an unattractive color IMO, and you don't see it very much.
As far as converting to an M-22, unless you plan on going with some really high rear gears (3.73 or better), I wouldn't go M-22.

I agree.
Now if it's a numbers matching car you'll want to save all the parts to put it back to "stock" if you wanted or needed to.
