Is it possible to add a fuel return line to a standard tank previously without one. I was going to install a higher volumn electric pump which may require one. Just wondering if now Im going to need a new tank now as well.??

Just a new sending unit will work. I have a 69 2 line unit-never used, new for sale if interested, however i don't know if it will fit a 67.

You can buy a return line that splices into the rubber gas tank filler tube. Jegs sells the Moroso kit under part number 65385 for $36.99. Do on-line search of Jegs site for picture and description.

Swapping in a new sending unit is about $60 and 2-3hrs work. It's pretty simple and straight forward. Just try to run the tank real low first. "makes it lighter to handle when you drop it down"

You can do it with 1/2 tank or more. It's just not much fun to wrestle the weight.

When I replaced my sender years ago, I took the fuel supply tube from the old one, cut it down so onlu 2 inches were left on the "inside the tank end" bent it away from the fuel pickup, drilled a hole in the new sender, and welded it in.
This was to be prepared for a future external pump EFI System.
Note that, at least with EFI, it is vital for the bypass regulator return line to be the same size as the supply line. If it's smaller, the regulator will not be able to bypass enough fguel to hold the correct pressure at idle, pressure will rise, and idle mixture will be very rich.
The stock return line senders use a 3/8" supply and a 5/16" return.
