OK, I am using the bc/cc system. First 3 coats of base went on great, but had to stop and could not go to clear! So sanded base with 600. Wipe down with tack rag. Started spraying base WHAM paint immediatly starts cracking, thought it was a fluke, tried another spot happened again! Mixed another batch and dialed in material knob, less material cracking went away.

First? How do I get out the cracking, went right down to primer in some spots. Sand with 200? 400 than 600?

Second? How do I prevent it from happening again? What did I do wrong. It was sporadic

Third ? This sucks

Base is very sensitive to solvents once it has dried. I always clear any uncleared and dried base first, then respray. In your case either clear it all and respray with base or sand and reseal and respray.

I personally don't think bc/cc is as great as everyone else seem to. I will use single stage urethane rather than bc/cc when it is appropriate.
