Gents,
All thanks in advance. I have been lurking here for several months, recently purchased a solid driver 67 RS Convertible. The owner took good care of it, most things were gone through about 6 years ago, but it was a sunday driver with not to much done to it in past while.
Motor:
350, starts up cold fine. But after running for awhile, hates to start back up, cranks over decent just doesn't fire up. Alternator, Battery is fine, starter is new with heatshield, I don't think heatsoat is an issue. Sounds like I need check timing?
Speaking of which, on normal accelation around 3000rpm it "gurgles" or "bogs down" like clockwork. Lower RPMs down to 2700 runs like a champ...
Tranny
Clutch movement isn't all that smooth, get pretty good vibration when I release it. Granted its likely 3.08 in the rear, but sounds like time for a new one?
M20 or M21 pops out of 2nd gear once in awhile when going down a hill, sounds like its also time for a change? Maybe TKO in my future, if I have to do a clutch and tranny maybe I should take the plunge.
Steering
Also, is it me or is the stock steering wheel is just too big. What have you guys experienced when switching to a smaller steering wheel for comfort?
