I also need to redo the felt inside my console compartment, I found out the process is called "flocking". I found this thread on the subject and might give it a try. http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=74186&highlight=flocking

A search on "Flocking" at the chevelle site also turned up alot of good info including these two sites:

I had my console trim rechromed and coincidentally was spraying it today. I had it done by Metal Brite, 937.278.9739. I bought the basic flocking kit from http://www.donjer.com/ but haven't done it yet. Strip your old plastic with Easy Off by putting the console in a garbage bag and letting it work overnight. I had to do about four applications to get the ham hand paint job stripped off of mine. I found SEM Landau black to be the best match although it's a little too flat.
