I just purchased a set of seat back knobs for my 67 convertible. I went to put them on and the opening for the lever is twice the size of the original. I can't get the set screw to hold on to the lever. Has any one had any luck finding something to take up the slack?

I had similar on our seats yrs ago..the screw did up put the knob was floppy
Ifilled the inside of the knob with epoxy
smeared a good layer of grease on the lever and screw
Sliped the knob on and put in the screw.
the grease stopped the epoxy sticking to the lever and screw.

That's because they are designed for the thicker '69 seat back latches. I had my old ones rechromed.
