: Real RS??

I have a '69 Camaro that is originally dusk blue with medium blue deluxe interior. Upon doing some research on the forums and in books I am can not figure out for sure if my car is an RS. It has what is left of an RS front end, the grill and RS head light buckets. It has a hole a that is a little larger than a quarter on the firewall (I guess this would be for the vac. hose groment.) It has the complete RS tail panel, lights, etc. which function perfectly. In the engine bay I have a bracket on the driver side of the radiator support for some sort of fluid bottle but nothing on the passenger side fender well. I know the fenderwell have been replaced so maybe it was tossed or just gone. Does the hole in the firewall and the fact the tail panel "looking" original/aged help determine for sure if my car is an RS?

You found most of the clues but have you reached under the dash on the side of the headlight switch and felt for 2 hose bibs? If the switch has not been replaced, that would indicate original RS. Is the big vacuum tank mounted on the drivers side inner fender, tucked under the fender itself? Is there an extra solenoid on top of the wiper motor? Does the wiper motor have a number on it that you should be able to see that ends in ...605? These are all additional clues.
Have you posted your cowl tag and VIN numbers in our Tag section? If its an LA built car, have you dropped the gas tank to check for the broadcast sheet on top of the tank? That would truely prove what the car was if its there. If its a Norwood built car, skip that tank.

I will check out those items tonight. It is a Norwood car built in Nov. '68 so I won't be dropping the tank. There is no vaccum tank tucked under the fender. At some point a previous owner had the whole front clip off according to the polaroids I got with the car. I am guessing that is when most of the RS was robbed off of it if it was there along with most of the deluxe interior items.
