I'll believe it when one runs off the assembly line.

What I read in the link said they "expect"... That's not official...

I think it is official...most will wait for the Challenger, which has already had at least one serious road test done on it. I'm afraid I will opt for the Challenger. I have a First Gen now. What I don't need is it's plastic Cadillac looking brother, when I can have the sweet sound and power of a Hemi...all wrapped up singing Take me to San Francisco Mr. Kowalski.

That's official. :)

I'll take mine in white. :)

"GM spokesman Christopher Preuss said Sunday he couldn't comment on the report."

Can't be offical if they won't comment!

Well...just wait for Thursday...that's all you can do.

Oh and....if anyone's in the market for the new Challanger, you better start shopping around for a mortgage company for that equity loan. I have a friend who works with Chrysler in setting up their assembly plants. He's in Brampton Ontario now in discussions over Challanger. Expect to pay north of $40 grand....and they're only building 50,000 units a year. So after your done finding a mortgage company I'd head up to the Chrysler dealer and give the sales manager a $10,000 deposit and a big hug and kiss. LOL!!!

We're not worried about Challanger....it won't be competing with Camaro and Mustang.

Well I like the new Camaro...unfortunately it will be unafordable here in the Netherlands. The last '02 Z28's were sold for almost $53k (official dealer price, thanks to our countries taxes)...so I can only guess what these will cost...

I'm really anxious to see what GM and Daimler actual produce..options, power, curb wgt, etc..if these cars are 3900 lbs and 400 horse they both drop the ball. It'll be interesting to see if GM learned anything from the SSR/GTO mess. I have this sneaking suspicion that Daimler will do it better than GM. And this is coming from someone who drives an 03 Mustang Cobra and would trade it in a second if GM could one up Ford by building a Z/28 with a 427 sbc that weighs under 3400 lbs and costs less than $35k - but I'm willing to bet they won't. I'll probably just keep my Ford and feast on the newest GM tank when it rolls off the assembly line...that being said I do love and have the utmost respect for the C6 vette..particularly the Z06 which IMO is the best bang for the buck "sports car" in the world.

You know as well as anyone that the 03 Cobra was just barely a match for a LS1 Camaro.

That 10k will be half the markup from MSRP that dealers will be tacking onto them.

yeah, im thinking about the dealer markup too...itll be stupid high. maybe we could all just go to GM directly and do a group purchase :)

ill pay 30-35K for a souped up version ls7 or whatever, but im not gonna pay
45...

cant wait to see one :)

hope you're kidding...most 03/04 cobras are high 12's bone stock down to the paper air filter..with a couple cheap mods high 11's were easy..how's a 2-ton Z/28 gonna run with 400 horses? answer- just as poorly as the GTO does. you'll need gears, nitrous, heads, etc..just to get started.
