I am trying to install new rear window felts and I am not sure how the metal tab on the rear well trim fits into the window felt. Does the tab go over or under the window felt? I hate installing that well trim and I don't want to have to mess with it anymore than I have to. I am a nervous wreck I am going to scratch the paint!! Should I install the felts or the well trim first?

If I remember correctly , it fastens to the bottom side of the inner piece and crimps over the metal where the verticle windlace attaches. (If we're talking about the same part).
