We are still having trouble getting our car to shift into Drive. We are now looking at the detent cable. We have been setting the cable by unlocking the cable adjustment, opening the throttle to wide open position and then relocking the cable. Is this correct? I was not clear on another post on this. If i read it right it said to unlock the cable. Open throttle to wide open position. then pull the cable toward the front of the car till it stops then lock the cable. Confusion reigns. Thanks.

Unlock the cable.
Open throttle to wide open position.
then pull the cable toward the front of the car till it stops
Don't pull the cable, pull cable casing to the rear of the car (take out the slack).
then lock the cable. Confusion is solved. Thanks.
