guys,

Im looking for torque specs for the water pump pulley bolts... i checked all my books and didnt find anything. i found online that a grade 8 5/16" fine thread bolt about an 1" long is about 28 lb ft.

but my other problem is that because of my electric fans, i cant even get my torque wrench in there. I did get the bolts pretty tight with a closed wrench. Is that good enough?

Do i need some lock tite on the bolts? blue or red?

thanks

jeff

You don't have to be too critical with torque specs on these items, but it's good to see that you are! 20ft/lbs will be fine for the standard grade 5 fasteners, but 25-28 ft/lbs for a grade 8 will do too.
If you can't get a torque wrench in there, no big deal, it would be pretty hard to strip or over torque them without the pulley rotating anyway.
If you're really worried about them losening, just add a drop of Loctite.
