Early Camaro?

If so, look at the back side of the crank hadle. You'll notice a slot in either side of the splined part. There is a small clip that snaps into that slot. You can get in in most parts houses in the "help" section. Intall the clip and the just push the window crank back on. You might need to hit it with the heel of your hand.

Yep. The clip is shaped like an Omega.

A quick make for the clip remover
Pinch a table fork, chop the 2 center prongs off, and the sharp tips on the remaining outside prongs...
And when replacing dont put the handle on then try to put the clip back
Put the clip on the handle 1st, line it up and give it a thump with the heel of your hand

can i get this from an auto parts store (i also need the plastic ring that goes between the crank and the pannel)or do i need to call a place like Classic or Rick's 1st? i'd hate to have to pay for the shipping (that will probably be like 10 bucks) for this thing...

I have seen the clips and the door handle removing tool, but I have not seen the plastic part. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy the handles in the HELP section they are crap and they just fall appart.

the plastic piece is just a buffer between the crank and pannel so the rubbing between them is mimimal.

The handles clips and shim and spring are used an many chevy models, a wander thru a local wrecking yard should source these parts for u.
They are also identical to Aussie/Sth Africa holden HQ of the late 60s thru late '70s models, as are many other parts.
