Hello All,

I am thinking of selling the 12 bolt in my 1969 Camaro. The spool and axles work perfectly fine but that stuff is useless to most. The prior owner cut the housing ends off to put c-clip eliminators on it. The c-clip eliminators and both wheel cyl are junk. The problem is that it needs a new housing end since the one is cut unevenly. I know completely rebuilt stock 12 bolt posi's are going around $1,800 to $2,000.

I have been offered anywhere from $200 to $325 for just the 12 bolt housing in this condition. I think housings brand new are $650. Should I just keep the housing or sell it for other work the car needs? I really don't know the value of just the housing.

Before I forget the date code is E208. The axle #'s are BR0604G then either a 1,4 or 9. I know this means it was built May 1968 and assembled June 4th 1968. This is a Camaro 12 bolt rear end, not a Nova.

Any and all comments in regards to the value of this housing are appreciated. I don't want to sell it for $200 or $325 if it's worth $400 or $500.

Thanks!!

I think 250.00 to 300.00 is a fair price, After you consider shipping and then having to find and take it to a shop and have it set up in a jig so the housing tubes can be cut straight and new housing ends installed, there will be an expense of a couple to 300.00 more. So now you at somewhere north of 550.00 to 600.00 just for the housing.
Although, If it is a date correct housing for someone who is restoring a c ar that needs that rear end, valuse could be increased some im sure.
but these are just my thoughts???

If you want to use that housing I can install new ends on it. You can ship a bare housing by UPS if it is clean and wrapped in cardboard. I could assemble it with a new Eaton and whatever parts you want in it. Just an option. Send me an email if you are interested.
