: Swiss Camaro, again...
jannes_z-28 Aug 12th, 06, 11:22 AM I saw another Swiss built Camaro today. This one was imported to Sweden in 1984 and has been stored until recently.
Service book is the only documentation available. No "American" trimtag on the car.
This one was equipped with some special parking lights, for the moment they are removed for repair, see insert for traces of were they are placed.

3forme Aug 12th, 06, 12:52 PM Very cool! Love them export cars.
bigblockpace Aug 12th, 06, 07:12 PM Does anyone have any pictures of the Exports with the Sun Roofs? I'm pretty sure they were built in the Philippines.
Kurt S Aug 12th, 06, 10:48 PM Jan,
Great find!
Are those it's original colors? Any options? 3 or 4 speed?
Thanks!!
Tony,
The Antwerp cars sometimes had sunroofs.
bigblockpace Aug 12th, 06, 11:05 PM Kurt,
Excellent! I didn't know there were some in Europe!
Are there any photos that you know of?
Get this! A friend of mine that I work with just married a woman from the Philippines. Her family has a 1967 Camaro RS with some kind of late model Nissan 4 banger in it. I've been bugging him to have her family take some pictures of it but I haven't had much luck yet. I'll post them if I get them.

The color is original and it has a four speed.
The engines is according to the "MA" code ('67 327 2 bbl) on the trimtag. The original twobarrel was changed to a fourbarrel carburator since the original was damaged.
Here is the inside of the service book, the last service was done at 30000 km (18500 miles) and now the car has some 50000 km on the odometer (31000 miles). The orgiginal owners name was Mr Güdel Fritz and sold to him on June 14th 1969. Some rats has have a feast on the paper.

Here is one Belgian built RS with sunroof.

Thanks for the pic. Do you have other shots of the sun roof? Any from the inside?
jet_car2000 Aug 13th, 06, 08:48 AM Thanks Jan for showing the pictures,,,Frank

I have not seen any Yutivos with sunroof in the Philippines, if they were made they are not common.
Kurt S Aug 13th, 06, 10:32 AM Jan,
Thanks! I think I see power brakes (discs I assume, like other European cars). Console? Black standard interior?
MA is also a 68 327 code. :)

Yes, console and black standard interior. Rear defogger too.
It has discs in front, the calipers were rusted and replacements was to expensive for the owner to change so for the moment he put on Wilwoods and another Master Cylinder. Nothing that could be changed back later.
Yeah I saw that about the MA code.
Here are a few more images, not the torque restraint. Looks pretty much stock.

Kurt S Aug 13th, 06, 08:52 PM Thanks! I see ps there too.
Seems to be the standard European options.
chevmad Aug 15th, 06, 06:06 AM There is a guy here in Australia bringing in Camaro's from the Phillipines but have not seen any with sunroofs or nissan (ugh) engines in them. Will try to get tag details from him in the next few days.

The family that I mentioned that have the 67 still have it! I'm pretty sure they are the original (In the family) owners. I believe they are on their 6th or 7th motor. The original motor was a 6 pop that didn't see 1970 if I remember what I was told right.
Kurt S Aug 16th, 06, 12:08 AM Shane & Tony,
Always interested in any Phillipine Camaro data. VIN tag info would be great (has the colors on it). Axle code would be exceptional (would tie it to the production year).
Thanks!
chevmad Aug 16th, 06, 04:18 AM Hi Kurt,
I have just been sent a pic of my friends 68 trim tag from Denmark which is a European built car. Do not have permission to post it but i can tell you it looks identical except :
Top line says "General Motors Corporation" instead of "Body By Fisher".
On the bottom of the tag under the details of the actual vehicle there is NO fine print of General Motors Corp like other tags...it is just blank.
I am really keen to see a Phillipines tag now. I might have to go there on holiday and buy a couple myself !!
Hope this helps out.

bigblockpace Aug 16th, 06, 08:25 AM Kurt,
If I ever get those pictures that were promised to me the info and PICS are yours.
The car is supposed to be a Blue (Not sure which one) with what sounds to be a Black Standard interior (Maybe deluxe) Original motor and trans are long gone. Rear should be the original. I'm not sure if it's a Sun Roof car.
Kurt S Aug 16th, 06, 10:26 AM Shane,
That's what's confusing. There's several different tags used. This car sounds like it was a complete assembly shipped from NOR.
Tony,
Thanks!

If it is built in Antwerpen it should have "HX" in the VIN instead of "N" or "L"
Do you know if it is so.

Kurt S Aug 16th, 06, 02:49 PM Jan,
Mostly true, but not always. Go figure....
jannes_z-28 Aug 16th, 06, 03:55 PM One of the Camaro gurus over here (that's not me) told me that the base cars were built in Antwerpen or Switzerland but highly optioned cars came built in Norwood. Except the ones that came to Scandinvia, they were all built in Norwood.
Jan
Kurt S Aug 16th, 06, 06:14 PM Yup, that's what data so far shows and that's what we say on the CRG site.
But VIN assignment didn't always follow where they were built.....
