I have a 68 4 speed car that had a ST-10 in it when I bought it. The floor had been cut about 4 inches behind the original hole. When I put a muncie 4 speed back in with a Hurst shifter instead of a muncie shifter, will the shifter line up with the original hole? When I pulled the carpet back to fix the hacked up floor, I was shocked to see that the person that cut the hole bigger in the tunnel, threw the original piece under the carpet that they cut out. Sure makes fixing that hole back a lot easier!!! thanks, Kevin

Weld it up , seal it up , call it done.

Let me re-word my question. If you take a muncie shifter off of a 67 0r 68 and install a Hurst comp.+ shifter, will it fit in the same hole as the muncie shifter? thanks, Kevin

Yes it will if you buy the one designed for that car,but you will also need to purchase an installation kit because they mount differently.

Thanks Russ, I have several Hurst shifters but I probably dont have the proper mounting. Ive never taken an original muncie out and replaced it with a Hurst, but someone did cut the floor pan. thanks for the help. Kevin
