hi, i ordered my foose wheels and well i don't think they'll work i got a 255/45 r18 all the way around on my 67 my car isn't put back together as far as the fenders go. but i don't think it will fit it seems to clear everything else but looks like it will hit the edge of the fender. i talked to the manager at schwabbs (good friend) and he is going to let me return them for the right size my car is stock height and i have aftermarket cross drilled and slotted rotors on all four corners from matts classic bowties what can i run with a 17" wheel and tire combo from foose that will sit nice and give me just enough rubber. also if i need a backspace what would that be as well? thanx guys , Rich

While I have seen 1 Camaro with a 255/45-18 in the front (Larry Christenson's yellow '69 called Stinger) that is a very tough fit in the front especially if the car is lowered which you said yours is not. That's a tall tire 27". I would say no bigger than a 245/40-18 or if you want a little taller a 235/45-18. Why would you order them if you don't think they will fit? Do a search we beat these tire sizes to death constantly. There is literally tons of info on this stuff. Good Luck. I hope it works out.

if you want em inside the fenders, you need at least 4.5" of backspace on an 8" wheel, or 5 1/2" on a 9" or 9 1/2".
255 is gonna be TOUGH to IMPOSSIBLE in front, I'd suggest no more than 235 unless you really do your homework on the backspace and overall tire height.
Note this is not an area to guess with an unassembled car, if you want to stuff the wheelwells full you need to measure carefully, at full driving weight and normal ride ht.

first of all thanx and yeah i read some of the forums but there was so many numbers i couldn't get a direct answer or if i did i didn't see what i needed. i am looking for possibly switching to a 17" rim same style just smaller but you think i can get that 18" to work in the front???

An 18 will definitly work in the front. I have seen an 18x8.5 with a 5 1/8 backspace and a 245/40-18 on an at least 2" lowered car work in the front. For sure an 18x8 with a 4.75 or 5.0 backspace will work with a 235/40-18 or a 225/45-18. I agree with the above comment on you need the car to be together and "loaded" to know what will really work. All these cars are a little different. That alone is reason enough to measure carefully.
