I am looking at buying a 69 z28. Current owner (mechanic) has owned for 22 years I think he's honest or at least would never rip me. However I'm new to the camaro game and have MacNeish's book. So do the dates for these codes seem correct I know that dates( codes) are not exact dates.

Did you mean 04C on the date code? If so that seems to line up with the engine assembly date. Is the partial VIN stamped on the pad? Check the block casting date for another cross reference. Can you post a picture of the cowl tag and the pad stamping?
