I know it is not a firstgen, but I got this buildsheet from a 79Z I bought a while back. Seems as if the car was bought from Waipahu Auto in Hawaii, and I guess that that triggered an "Export" model.

The sheet also has:
ZZZZZZ
....222
..22
88888888

typed on it. Also has LM1 for the 350 code, which I guess sometime around late 70's early 80's I believe I read somewhere that the Z's could be ordered with the 305 or the 350?

Anyway, just thought this buildsheet was cool.

i still have the build sheet for my old 78 z28. it too has the z28 just like the one you posted.

Seems like it is standard procedure at some point.

Also, from what I was just told, after 79 you could not get the 4 speed and the 350 combo, the car could not pass the new emission standards that way.

my 80 z-28 build sheet is that way as well

They did that for awhile, my 1984 sheet has it also.

I think you could still get the 4 speed and 350 if you got it from Canada up until 1981.

Yeah, I think the first year of the 305 in the Z was 1980. California only.
