My '69 SS goes in the body shop Mon. to repair damage from someone backing into me.
Looks like they are going to paint both front fenders to match things up.I will have to replace the stripes.Looks like my car now has decals under the clear coat.
I've read that they were decals from the factory, and also that the fenders were painted and the doors are decals.Which is correct?
Also who sells the best decals and templates?
Thanks for the input.

I believe the fenders were painted and the doors were decals. Many Camaro vendors sell the stencil kits or decals...Ground Up, Rick's, NPD and Classis Industries. I have had better luck with the kit from Rick's. I am pretty sure it is a 3m kit.

Fenders painted and doors were stickers as the doors were not painted on the car and painting the doors was hit and miss having the stripe line up properly when the doors were hung. Stickers were applied after doors were hung.

Make sure the painter knows which version of the stripe to use on your car. Many don't include the break in the stripe for the 350/396 emblems on an SS and paint them solid like a 6cyl car or copo.
