I am looking at buying a 69 z28. I found the following #'s. Cowl tag, vin, and engine code seem to match so I'm confidant it's an original z28. Block cast 3956618 helps to confirm originallity. Carb is not a 4053. Intake is 1404886 not original (is this intake # known) #'s on trans T-10-1B(any help)also stamped on trans WA1312. Bell housing 3899621 not original (Do you know it). Lastly what would you says this car is worth knowing these details. Vehicle has 57000 miles on speedo. All gages work, runs strong and smooth, body great no rust ( original metal I think) interior great, very clean engine and underneath, no dripping. Current owner I know has owned for 22 years and kept in climate controlled shop.Tell me some $$#'s.

Bellhousing 621 is for a SS350 with 11in clutch and 396. Sounds like the trans is a transplanted super T-10 instead of the Muncie. You would need to post some pics to verify original stampings, cowl and VIN tag. Rear numbers would be nice too.

With the amount of different parts on the engine and trans, I would say that the car was messed with a lot for 57000 miles, that changes the value quite a bit.

cowl tag 12437 NOR298537
tr 711 pnt 71
04C X33
VIN 124379N627703
Engine Code V0325DZ
These #'s seem good but the rest of the drive train seems to have been replaced. I can't bring up the rear #'s. I'm going to have the owner pull valve covers to get the #'s on the heads. Guy wants 35G. I've got Macneish's book so if the #'s were right I could verify myself, but I don't know what these odd #'s mean or where there from. Speedo says 90 when your doing about 60 any thoghts about that.I appreciate any help and/or thoughts and opinions.

You need to confirm the axle code. So far, original engine (but not engine components) and a nice body - he's not way off on the price, but he's not giving it away. You'll have some $$ into getting just the correct engine parts.

Also, please keep posting under the same thread, no need to start new ones each day. :)

Trans issue sounds like the speedo gear just isn't the correct one for the rear end in the car. Once you find out the diff gear ratio, post it and help will be on the way.

#'s on trans T-10-1B(any help)also stamped on trans WA1312.

Trans is a first-design Borg-Warner T-10 out of a '61 Corvette or passenger car; assembled January 13, 1961, on 2nd shift. Nowhere near as strong as a Muncie.

:beers:

Probably doesn't have the adapter on it.
