just pulled the 350 engine and b & m trans to change the torque converter and paint and put gaskets on the engine. Should I take the trans to a shop to have it checked or just change the filter, fluid and gasket and put it back on? Also, I guess it is okay to pressure wash and paint it too isn't it? It now has some silver paint on it that doesn't like car fluids as it rubs right off on your hand! Thanks for any help.

Hmmm, I hate removing and refitting transmissions, and I'd especially hate to have to do it a 2nd time because the trans needed opening for a simple band and/or clutch replacement, and/or maybe the pump was worn and wasn't making pressure like it should.

If you're feeling lucky and energetic, just bang it back in there!

Go easy with the pressure wash, it's easy to get water and dirt into where it's not wanted.
