Be careful not to separate the 2 sides of the case to far, or the brushes and springs will get fouled up. Spoken from experience. jr68 Aug 17th, 06, 09:19 AM what about the stud where the bat wire attaches ? Codi Aug 17th, 06, 10:37 AM When clocking the SI series alt., Mark the case so if a mistake happens, you can realign the case back to the original position. Remove the four hex head screws and turn the portion of the case under the pully/fan only. Do not let the stator or lower case turn as these are where all the electrical connections are located. Clock as needed and replace the four screws. Johnny B Aug 17th, 06, 10:46 AM Do not disturb the rear half, nothing needs to be disconnected. You will want to hold the armature shaft in the rear half while you turn the front case. This will prevent the armature from pulling out of the rear bearing and disturbing the brushes when the case bolts are removed. jr68 Aug 17th, 06, 10:57 AM thanks guys I'm gonna do it tonight. |
