Recently bought wife a 1969 Z-28 clone. Have a few wires I cannot figure out where they go.
First there is an Orange wire that is coming out of firewall by heater that is about 2 foot long with a black boot. Where does it go? Any ideas? It appears to come out of a wiring harness that is by wiper motor.
Next, there is in the front wiring harness, a green wire (actually 2 wires) that are connected into a black plastic plug on drivers side about 1 foot from headlight. Just hanging there and then about in the middle of the car, another single green wire with a black plastic plug that just barely reaches other green plug but won't plug into each other.
Finally, under the dash there is a yellow wire with a black wire in a plastic block connector. Just hanging there? Could it go to the stock radio. I have aftermarket radio in it (doesn't work).
I know it is hard to diagnose without pictures. My wife has our camera at work. I will try to post pics tomorrow. But for now, any wild guesses....
Thanks in advance for your time responding.

If you dont have the AIM yet you need to get one, Assembly Instruction Manual, the bible for working on these old camaors. Inside is the complete elec diagram, I have this part of it scanned, it might help you out a little, follow the color coding and see what you find that matches.

Is the orange on the engine side or inside the car? If on the engine side it is for the heater motor located under the fender against the firewall. If inside the car it is probably for the cig lighter. The double green is for one of the horns and the single green is for the other horn. The yellow and blk is for the radio.

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it...I will get an AIM.
I figured the orange wire was for the heater. Need new fan switch. seems like these are a problem area for the camaro. Mine is broken off.
Again. Thanks for the info...
