I am restoring a 68 Convertible and I have the dimensions for the Bumble Bee stripe. However, in the GM factory assembly manual they neglect to indicate what scale the dimensions are drawn. The typical dimensions are .12 for the first and last stripe and 3.72 for the main stripe with a .12 gap between each stripe. My first guess would be these are in Engineering scale 1/100. But I would like to make sure. Does anyone know?

Why not buy the stencil from a supplier?

Those dimensions are in english decimal format (.100 x 10 = 1 inch)

dtso, jackr is right, 1/8" = 0.125" = .12", nobody is gonna notice 0.005" / half thousand of an inch.
Same for 3-3/4" = 3.750" = ± 3.72", here with 0.030" as a difference you can appreciate it better with a spark plug gauge and decide if what you are looking for is pure perfection. good luck

Thanks jackr and ORENCH for understanding. I would rather do it the right way than the easy way. Believe me, I understand there are stencil kits out there. But this is why I asked for a drawing scale. When we start pushing kits instead of true work, we loose the integrity of the craftsmanship. Jackr, you described Engineering scale 100. And ORENCH, I agree, 3.72 is close enough to 3 ¾. Thank you.

I went through this with my painter. He masked and I measured. I used a cheap plastic 6" dial caliper that I got from a home depot or lowes I think. My painter said that the stencils are hard to work with.

I think the mask and paint method works fine for some stripes designs like the Z-28 & Bumble Bee but for the one I have in my car, is different, specially the curve in the front fenders. And related to the stencils, my body man said the same and I ended up installing them by myself. That means that it isn't too difficult, it was my first try on this. Realy not too hard to do, just use plenty of soapy water.
