First off...I'm not interested in hearing from any salesmen!!! I'm new to the classic car scene and I'm interested in hearing from you all who have had good or bad experiences with classic car insurance. Currently I'm using my regular car and home owners insurance company but they know little about our hobby's needs and I'm obviously under-insured. Some people I met at a car show tell me its time to get specific classic car insurance so that I'm not paying thru the nose to keep all the family's cars on the road at all times and then come to find out I may not be covered as well as I thought I was. Please tell me your good and bad war stories. Thanks, Doug

Myself along with many others will say Haggerty. If you do a search here you'll find more information as it is discussed very often.

You may also want to do a search here on "stated value" vs. "agreed value" type policies.

I HAD American Collectors until I hit a speed bump about whether or not I was adding a vehicle

I thought they were great

I now have Haggerty and am not as happy, Haggerty has higher prices and wastes a lot of money mailing out stupid full color glossy newsletters

My dad used JC Taylor for decades and was very happy and over x cars the rest were free (not sure if they still do things that way)

Have NOT had any claims with any of them over the last 35 years (my dad's and mine)

Use the "search" feature as mentioned. This site is FULL of threads about insurance. :) but ONLY buy 'agreed' value coverage or you will regret it.

I use Grundy also. Very easy to deal with and a little cheaper than my regular car insurance. Also, the restrictions are not as bad as with other classic car insurance companies.
