View Full Version : Does the sale price mean anything for figuring out a car’s history?

I know that my 68 is a mutt (I’m the third owner) —almost nothing in it seems original yet it does have some neat features—tilt steering, consol w/gages, air, power steering and brakes, disk brakes, and cruse control, RS back-up lights, and a TH350. The VIN indicates that it is a V8 coupe. I also know that it is an early 68 built in December and would not likely have been sold on sale. I say all this to ask whether the original sticker price might help sort out what it might have been in the beginning. I noticed that the Arizona title lists the selling price as $2727—does this suggest a plain 327-210hp V8 coupe with all that I have listed above later add ons?

Thanks,

I believe that most titles that show the price is just the base price of the model. Doesn't really mean anything. My 69Z AZ title also shows the price as $2725.
