do you think different types of sfc will effect the car differently? I had a pair made and do not notice any change in handeling.

are they welded in? also what sf bushings are you using, stock rubber, poly or soild?

these two things will make a large diff.

I would think some sfc's are stronger then others and would affect the car as any other part would.

Can't go wrong with DSE or Global West. IMHO!

you should have felt a difference... especially if they were welded-in...

Yhey really need to be welded. You should elminate a lot of cowl shake.

They are welded in , I have replaced the bushings [rubber],new tires. Still have cowl shake, most front end parts are new, not "A" frame bushings?

Do you have your cross brace and cocktail shakers in place? What shape are your rockers? Do your doors sag when open or don't open or close if you drive one wheel onto the curb from your driveway?

You really shouldn't have any cowl shake if the car is solid and all together without the connectors...

Every thing is there and solid ,no door sag . I have had car jacked up on one side and door opens & closes no problem????????

You say you had a pair made, care to elloborate on the design and materials.

All I can say is that I had the DSE SFC's and GW solid bushings installed recently and the car is night and day better. Before I would look in the side view mirror and watch the quarter door seems dance all over the plcae with the top down. Also I would get wicked steering wheel feedback and cowl shae when I hit a bump.

Now the seem does move slightly as it nees to but no where near as much and the cowl shake and wheel shake is gone!

:) Bill you're not alone, I've put SFC's in, have all the cocktales, doors close and open nicely, replaced every piece in the front and rear end, ballanced the drive shaft, tightened every nut and bolt in the car, went through all the wheels and tires, even the door adjustment shims and although I have reduced the cowl shake a lot, it still creeps back between 40-47 MPH. The car drives stright as a arrow and handles great but a mild shake is still there.

So I've just decided to drive the dog do do out of it. enjoy your vert and all its querks.

If you had/have good original floors and rockers connectors will not be felt much. Thus in my opinion not needed. But If you have had rockers/floors done because of rust issues, then the connectors are well worth it. We can never duplicate what the general did. I've had a few convertibles and this is just what ive seen in the past. My best riding '69 convertible had all original body parts,And a Big block.NO CONNECTORS.
