i took out the factory speedo, and gas gauge out of my 67 , and replaced them with autometer speedo, and tach into the factory housing , i currently have both brake lights , and hazzard lights working , but no signals, i put in little diode type lights for the signals but other than the hazzards they are working neither are the real signals (BODY) i am using the original plug that goes into the factory dash , anybody know how to get them to work pleasw help , thanks chris

Sorry, can't help you, but I have been thinking about this gauge swap myself. Do the guages just drop right in or do you have to mod the guage or console? Good luck with your problem.

i believe the turn signals have a separate fuse from the rest of the lights even the emergency flashers

also the turn signal flasher mounts in the general gauge area (im not sure where factory was cause when i got my 67 it was just hanging under the dash from the wiring...) so it may have been disturbed and come unplugged, or just decided that it wanted to crap out...

ill take a look ,but im pretty sure its not the fuse, i think its a common fuse on 67 but gets its own in 68 and up

Can you hear the blinker clicking? When I did mine I used a voltmeter to find the correct wires. Turn the blinker on and watch your voltage.

I'm wondering about your "LED" indicators.
LED's operate on 1.8 volts, period. For them to function in a 12 volt circuit, you need a resister in series, tho I don't remember the value.

Radio Shack carries some lil red 12 volt lamps which I used. They don't require any resisters and such, and fit thru a 1/4 inch hole just like an LED.

thanks , i am using the 12 volt radio shack lights not leds they light up fine for the hazzards but nuthin for the signals

It's been too long, but something keeps making me think that a different flasher unit is necessary when using the LED indicators due to the lighter circuit load.

When you turn the blinker on, does it light up but not flash?
That would be a flasher problem.

If nothing even lights up, it could be a bad flasher, otherwise it has to be related to the turn signal switch or the wiring in the column.

The turn signal flasher clips to the underside of the dash below the key and the lighter. The one in the fusebox is for the hazards only.

The brake lights and haxards use all the same wiring as the turn signals.

I am doing the same to a 68. Did you use the 5" speedo and tach?
What had to be modified? Thanks

Yes. Here is an old thread with the details:

Thanks RS
The construction of the meters sure has changed. Yours look metal. The new Phantoms are plastic cases and plastic retainers. So you had to trim the two bezel openings from the back to get the guages to fit the holes? You have a very clean looking install.
