: 69 front wheel well molding

I bought a set of new GM wheel well moldings to put on. Each side only has two holes drilled for bolts, and one of the holes isn't going to line up very well. Is this right? Will I have to drill all of the other holes? Should the bottom rear edge of the molding go all the way down to the edge of the fender? These seem like there will be at least an inch of space from the bottom of the molding and the bottom of the fender.

Thanks,
Marc

Not an answer, but a question; sorry.
I'm looking to buy some for my 69. Do they seem to be of high quality? How do the rears fit?
Do you think the rear would work with "rolled" fender lips?

Hope you get your answer!

Thanks
Joe

I bought the actual GM pieces, and not the repos. The quality is pretty good, I guess all wheelwell molding are somewhat flimsy in general. The rears fit great, no problems at all. I'm still unsure on the fronts. I don't think they would work very well with rolled fender lips. They really conform to the stock curves, and I think anything outside of the stock curve would make them not fit very well. Hope this helps.

MWH, I bought the GM pieces as well and noticed the same thing. I called Rick's and they said all the new one's were like this. I've used NOS in the past and can't remember them being this thin. I used a pair of repro rocker moldings on my '68 and a pair of GM rocker moldings on a '69 and noticed no difference in material. I wonder now if they are made by the same people just sold at a higher price. Wes

Thanks, Marc. That's kinda what I thought too.
Too bad. I really like the mouldings. http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif

I also bought a set of GM mouldings from Ricks a while back. One piece, the right front is unfinished. The piece is missing holes (has two) and is not formed to the wheel opening at lower rear. Looks like a manufacture defect. The other 3 were ok.
