I pulled my gas tank and found my build sheet on the top of it. my only problem is that the glue that holds the cushion spread to under the build sheet and i cant get the sheet off. does anyone know a way to get the paper off without ripping it.

Tony, try slowly heating the glued area with a hair drier or low-setting heat gun until the glue gets soft. Then gently scrape the glue off of the tank with the paper attached. I wouldn't try pulling the paper from the glue.
I don't know if I'd use any type of liquid because it might destroy the paper.
Good luck! Nice find.

Great find Tony, before you do what Joe suggests, get a good digital camera and snap a bunch of photos of the sheet in place on the tank, use different angles and lighting to get all the letters and numbers clearly in photos just in case the paper falls apart later. Now is the time to preserve it with digital pics. It also lets us know where on the tank the sheet was so curious folks have an idea of where to look for their own someday.
good luck, let us now how it comes off.

Thanks guys.

I got it off by putting masking tape over it and used a razor to scrape it off, this way it didn't rip.

I tried heating it and it didnt work to good, it kept tearing.

Its nice that i got it off because this camaro is and original SS 350 with 39,000 orig miles. No major rust at all. its a nice piece.

Thanks guys
