I need the correct CS-130 alternator for the GM serpentine belt setup. The alternator I bought has the bolt holes in the wrong locations for the GM bracket. I am looking for the correct part number for the three wire CS-130 alternator for that GM serpentine belt setup. Any help? Thanks.

Is the alternator "clocked" correctly? You can remove the bolts connecting the casing halves, pull them apart slightly and rotate 90 degrees and it may fit. I have bought the so called correct part number many times and had to reclock it. Don't pull the halves any further apart than necessary or the brushes will fall out.

I really had bought the wrong alternator. The mounting holes didn't line up with the mounting bracket at all. I found the correct part number and I picked up the alternator but as you said I have to turn the back half of the alternator about 90 degrees. Thanks for your help though.

Take a look at my website. I believe that the mounting lug locations are correct for LT-1 style serpentine use. There is also information in the technical section on alternator conversions that has the Autozone part numbers.

For reference, I had to clock my 130 in order to clear tall valve covers. The charging post hit. I am using a 3rd gen serp setup.
