Looking for some advice and feedback.
If you were going to or have replaced these body mount bushings, which way should I go, original OEM rubber or Poly?
Not sure if poly would be better for a convert or worse? My car is a 67 RS convert. Do Poly type squeek?
Can anyone provide part numbers they used on there convert and satisfaction levels with install ease of parts? Also where purchased would be helpful.
Before replacing what were the syptoms of car that caused the replacement? My car is swaying a bit under load and real bad over bumps, a visual inspection shows the bushings as original and now 39 years old, brittle and dry.
thanks

I went with Speedtech solid interlocking aluminum bushings. Very nice pieces, and a noticeable improvement, $105. Lucky for me, there is a Speedtech distributor in Portland, so I just drove over and picked them up.
Intalled them using John's write-up - very easy.

Joe , I went with solid aluminum bushings ( all 6 ) and while I haven't driven the car yet I noticed that when it's sitting there idling I can see the body shaking .... how cool is that !

Using the solid bushings in this location is a good idea to slightly improve steering response and handleing. They will not adversly effect the ride quality of most vehicles, unless you combine them with solid suspension bushings and low profile (>50's) sidewalls that can't help absorb the road surface irregularities.
The 'poly' bushing would probably be my last choice in this location. Not because of any squeeking issues, as they dont really rotate or move much, but due to the fact they tend to deform over time and they could cause the bolts to become loosened and the frame to start moving again - I've seen this now in two (2) applications like this.
The standard type replacement sets are of good quality and on the many sets I've installed they have continued to give excellent service as did the original set. On a convertible model they do add just a bit more absorbsion of road noise in an otherwords 'noisey' car ...
On another note, do you have both sets of Vibration Dampers in the front and rear? These dampers, or "Cocktail Shakers" as their commonly know by, can really effect the overall ride quality of a convertible. If they are missing, as they commonly are, you can find replacement originals on this site in the 'classifieds' or on the popular web sites for reselling vehicle items.
