I'm going to buy some 15x7's for the front and some 15x8's for the rear. I was looking at maybe buying some for NPD. But all they have as far as backspacing is 4 1/2 in both. I want to put a 215/65 on the front and a 245/60 on the rear, will this be ok? Also their wheels are "SFI" not too sure what that means but does anyone know about their quality? I also looked at Wheel Vintiques but read a few things about the quality. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks. BTW this is a 68 with new springs, PST suspension and a SSBC disc conversion on the front.

i went with 215/65's on my car in the front with 15x7 rims. I bought them from a guy who restores and sells them on ebay. Check him out. He does a really nice job. I dont remeber his name but for about $350 you can get restored vette wheels shipped to your door or most any other wheel like camaro rally's. I got mine for $380 shipped with nos trim rings and really nice center caps. Paint is what came from factory.

You should be ok with the 4.5" on the front; worst case you might need a 1/4" spacer to bring it back to 4.25". BTW, I'd go with a 255/60 on the rear for a 67/68; I ran that combo (215/65 front 255/60 rear on rally's for a long time, and the 255 fit great under the rear and fills the 67/68 wheel well a bit better. -Dan

Both cars look great. Anyone have any suggestions on where they would buy from or have bought from? I'm still leaning a little toward NPD.

I am running Wheel Vintiques rally wheels. The price was right and the quality is good. They run true. I got them from Summit. They are 15X7 4.25 BS in the front and 15X8 4.5 BS in the rear.

I have no rubbing at all with the rear tires (255/60-15). I sometimes get a slight rub while going over dips in the road with the right front tire (235/60-15). The top outer edge of the tire rubs the inner fender when the suspension is compressed. It never rubs while turning, only when going straight. My current front end alignment has the camber set at 1˚ positive. I plan on having it changed to 0 or ½˚ negative. I believe this will cure the slight occasional rub.

You should have no problem with 215/65-15 front tires with either 4.25 or 4.5 BS.

Mine were GM fronts (monte-carlo if I remember right; rears I had one GM set (4.25" bs) in the picture, but I had drag tires on wheel vintiques with 4.5"bs; the only thing I noticed is that the center caps fit the gm a lot better (easier to install). -Dan

So if I run a 4.5 bs on the front with a 215/65/15 it will be ok and you don't think I will need any spacers or anything because I really not wanting to go that way. The only reason I'm concerned is that NPD only sells the 15x7 and the 15x8 in a 4.5 bs and on the 15x8 it says (exc. vette!) not sure what they mean.

Ive got 15x7's fronts and 15x8's rear (Ive been told that they are corvette rallys but not sure). I am looking to put new tires all the way around and have no idea what fits. To give you an idea how in the dark I am, the car was lowered all the way around and had 205/50's on all four corners but that was done a long time ago.The car is back to stock ride height and I need to put meats on it. Its a 400+ hp engine with 4-11 gears 1969 SS camaro.

Both will work fine with no problem on a 67-8 body, I don't know about 69. I had 245/60R15 on back with 15 x 8 GM rim, those have 4 inch backspacing, I replaced them last week with 15 x 7 and a taller tire that filled my wheel well better. If you go with the 15 x 7 on the rear it will move the tire in 1.5 inches from the lip compared to the 8 inch GM rim, would look and work better than the set up I had previously.

I still have 125/65R15 on the front with 15 x 7 GM ralley wheels. The fit fine with no clearance issues or rubbing, but I have an original SS car and it sits a little higher in the front than most I see. Those will come off soon and a thinner taller tire will go on. Then I'll deal with the front end height.
