: Team GM Chapter
JimM Sep 3rd, 06, 01:20 PM HarleyD67
Jim, Jason, and myself are sitting here at Jim's for the BBQ, and where sitting here talking about all the people that want local clubs. So we talked and decided to suggest starting local chapters for people on Team Camaro, Chevelle,ect... And call it Team GM. What do you guys think. Any takers in the Midwest. We thought about trying to start a chapter for sothern Wis,Ill, and try to grow it from there.
Joe Harrison Sep 3rd, 06, 01:34 PM Ok South Arkansas here!! Who else wants in around here? We can try something!
Joe
KevinW Sep 3rd, 06, 06:47 PM I'd like to do an NJ one!
JimM Sep 3rd, 06, 07:48 PM I'm in!!!
What we talked about at the BBQ today was basically organizing real local clubs from the Team Site membership.
We are going ahead with this here, one way or another, and have all ready completed our first event (the BBQ and pool party was a great time!) and are starting to plan our next two.
We WILL show support to Eric68 on the final weekend of Dragweek in Cordova, IL, on September 15. If you are interested, please shoot me a pm.
During the month of October, Byron Dragway, south of Rockford hold weekend test n tunes. They tell me no tech, no rollbars! I hope to get a bunch of us to go out there together and wring out our cars.
More to come.

BonzoHansen Sep 3rd, 06, 08:57 PM I'd like to do an NJ one!
I'm in.
HarleyD67 Sep 3rd, 06, 10:55 PM Part of what we talked about is getting together monthly or by-monthly at a different location. So one time I may have to drive 1 1/2 hrs, and for another meeting JimM may have to drive that same distance. Jim also suggested doing a round-up cruise where 1 person would meet up at the second persons house then they would both go to the next persons house meet up with them and so on. Then we would all head back to the first persons house stop by chat drop them off and continue on dropping people off in the same order we met up with them.
JimM Sep 4th, 06, 12:49 PM For the first "Team GM MidWest" event, let's go to Codova, IL on Sept. 15.

thedugan Sep 5th, 06, 07:15 PM So Saturday or Sunday for the "meeting" of the Northeast/Mid Atlantic Team Chapter
KevinW Sep 5th, 06, 08:49 PM Doug, sorry, sarcasm doesnt come off well when I type :) I meant hard to schedule. I usually go on friday :) Sat traffic is a killer. Sunday might be a better choice, give me an excuse to go 2 days.
thedugan Sep 5th, 06, 09:18 PM Okay just checkin. Sunday is fine with me.
JimM Sep 5th, 06, 09:54 PM check my sig, midwest members!

mbmmca Sep 6th, 06, 04:15 AM Sounds interesting....
bowtie1Z28 Sep 6th, 06, 05:11 AM Jim,
Still working on getting that Friday off right now but should not be a problem. Leaving Friday AM early would be good but I am certainly flexible on the travel times and plans. Should we all try to meet somewhere along the way or meet up at your place and go from there? I assume everyone will be driving their own rides? Any others committed to joining in for the trip to support Eric?
Harley,
I like the shirt layout!! Was the plan to still include the Buick group?
jet_car2000 Sep 6th, 06, 07:23 AM This sounds great guys. Looking good for the midwest and the northeast.
Any takers in the southeast?? I know theres a good many members in the southeastern states. Chime in and lets see how many are willing to take part.
Frank
thedugan Sep 6th, 06, 07:30 AM I added the Englishtown NJ swap meet Mid-Atlantic group get together to the calendar

Not real sure as of yet. Al already had some secrets in the works which is why the name change back to Team Chevy.
KevinW Sep 6th, 06, 08:18 AM NJers, I will put a post in cruize-ins to get this rolling in seperate thread!
onabudget Sep 6th, 06, 01:40 PM Its a great idea. But to think of it, its almost describes my local club. Long Island Chevelles gets most of its members from the Team Sites. Chevelles and Camaros, some Novas, and a few Buicks, but mostly Chevelles.
Even guys who aren't active posters, have found out about us through the team sites.

tinygiant Sep 7th, 06, 12:38 PM Any takers in Southern AZ? I'd be happy to join with other TCers down here, but don't know who's around. How many of you live in Phoenix? Tucson?
WildBillyT Sep 7th, 06, 04:13 PM I'm in for NJ. Kevin I'll check your post.
bowtie1Z28 Sep 8th, 06, 11:20 AM We have gotten some good interest from several other areas but looks like there are only 5 or so of us interested in getting this going here in the Midwest!! Surely there has to be more Camaro/GM enthusiasts here in the Midwest...........come on guys, join in!! We would love to hear from you!
bowtie1Z28 Sep 8th, 06, 11:23 AM Look before you leap??...........should have looked at the poll results first! There are more than 5 that responded thru the poll.
Tom
HarleyD67 Sep 10th, 06, 09:00 PM Sorry Jim it's official. I can't go next Friday. @ other people leave for vacation this week. Cheer for Eric and tell him hey for me, as I sit and fight to get my computers at work to do something other than post error messages.

136679ss Sep 15th, 06, 07:51 PM After chatting with a couple of you regarding the date of the Byron event, Jim made a good point of getting started early and potentially having a second round. Unfortunately at this time, time is of the essence and although we'd obviously like to have a vote, democracy is probably a bad way to approach this event being that our driving season is dwindling away rapidly. It has been suggested we attend the October 1st T&T day which falls on a Sunday. Unfortunately this date will likely kill my attendance but mark your calenders and let JimM or myself know if you will be attending. All convertible drivers no tech rules unless you're running a full blown race car, Tops up at all times. Everyone Else 13.99 and under helmets are required, you'll need to rig up a catch can as well (pepsi bottles and zip ties work well for this). 25 to run, 10 to watch. If we get enough response, I will make the effort to contact the owner to see if we can get a group discount. Jason.
JimM Sep 15th, 06, 07:59 PM whats this about killing your attendance?
As you are in charge of this outing, you have 24 hours to pick a date that you can attend!
Cordova was great, check the other post for details.

Haha, you wanted early I'm delivering. I posted over on Impalas, chevelles, novas. I'm in charge? Put down the crack pipe Jimmy boy. I'm an indian. lol. I'm installing my new Voodoo cam and RPM intake now as I take a break to view your comments from drag week, so what the heck do you think I'm doing trying to make drag day?????? I can't make my famous "box" comment, but I'll do whatever I can to make it. I WANT to Go!!!!!!! Earlier is better Jim, with the weather lately we'll have snow by Halloween, sad, but you'd have to agree this is true.
Stainless dog Sep 16th, 06, 08:18 AM Injoyed meeting you and Eric at cardova>Congradulation to Eric on 2nd place finish is his class.I,m in.
