When I shut my hood the back stays up about 1",have to push it down the rest of the way by hand.Do I need to replace the entire hinge/spring or will new springs alone do it?The springs by themselves are much cheaper. Thanks ,Drake

Springs should do fine. Mine had the same issue on the drivers side, I replaced the spring and it worked fine. Actually I got the spring from a junked 68, but it fit...

And let me guess drake...every time you go on the highway you have to push down the rear of your hood about a half an inch....same problem...dont think its the springs though...isnt it the bolts that need adjustment. Mine comes up about a half an inch on the drivers side at the rear corner of the hood.

I don't know,I have not tried to adjust it.I can't try this right now anyway, the hood is off.I had a Gran Prix at one time though with the same problem, and on this one I did adjust them all the way down, but it still stayed up about 1/2",so I assumed it was the hinge/spring,not the adjustment that was screwed up.
So the jury is still out.One yes and one no.
Thanks for the replies.
