87 camaro ,stock camaro in tank pump ,can you run it with a carb system with a 850 ,383sbc.I don't think you can because of volume problems.I could be wrong though

I'd imagine you would have to run a regulator to bring the pressure down to 7psi or so.

the kid already did that part.Its down to 7 psi

Yes, you can. If its a TBI unit just use a bypass style regulator and you are good to go. Not sure how much volume they supply but we have one supplying a 142 blown 327 in an 89 Camaro (we're probably pushing it).

The key is making sure that the fuel pump turns on. There is a relay behind the power brake booster which is fired by the ECU. If the ECU is disconnected (pretty common if converting to a carb from FI) you need to rewire the switch voltage to that relay. I grabbed a pink wire with switched ignition power that goes to the vacuum can behind the drivers headlight.
