They show they are in booth RED RJ-76. I do not see a map on the e-town web page

In the past they are on the spectator side (not pit side). Enter thru the main gate facing down the track and they are right there.

Sep 6th, 06, 02:22 PM
Yes, they are usually right near the entrance. I'm 98% in. Sunday is usually car show day anyway, right?

KevinW
Sep 6th, 06, 03:11 PM
Right, sunday is restored cars!

Nope, wedding is the week after. :D

Anyone know if they will be having any specials??? I mean show prices for parts/sheetmetal. I guess I'll contact them.
OK I called and emailed them asking for a list of the sales and the guy told me that the owner has not put the list together yet.... i guess we'll see if the email gets more info.
Maybe we could get a group buy special..... I'm interested in inner fenders for a 68, maybe I should just start a new thread....:clonk:

Jim, good thought, but keep it here for more action :) Anyone else need parts from G-UP?

Jeff H
Sep 14th, 06, 04:18 PM
I'm debating bringing the L78 down to enter in the show. It won't be good in traffic but if I can get my butt up early enough I can get there before the traffic gets bad. It's not a show car but who cares, it's a Camaro!

KevinW
Sep 17th, 06, 06:53 AM
A week to go! 10:00 Sunday at Ground up trailer on the spectator side. I will have my custom cart with Team Camaro signs :D

Looks like rain Saturday and Sunday.

KevinW
Sep 20th, 06, 02:59 PM
:( I will be there friday and since the forecast is 40% chance of rain, I would not count out sunday. Of course, if I wake up sunday and it is raining I am not going and I expect not many of you will either.

If you see someone pushing a wierd wooden cart with wheel barrel wheels (and maybe team Camaro signs, if I can get them on in time), stop me and say hi!

But... that reminds me of the numurous times I have been at the E-town swap meet as both seller and buyer in the rain. I recall getting some good deals in the rain on sunday :D

I plan on going Sunday to meet you guys. I just recently became a TC member and dont know anyone, so I guess its a good oportunity to meet some other Jersey Boyz. Going Friday before my graveyard shift too. Never went on a Friday but was told its pretty good.
Rain/ showers doesnt scare me. Guys leaning over thru the window to look inside a nice car... with huge belt buckles...... do.

Rain will hold of Sunday until late afternoon/evening. Just like Power Tour - and it never rained that day either (at least at the track!)

Jeff H
Sep 21st, 06, 07:02 AM
I seriously doubt I'll be bringing the L78 car due to the clutch issues and knowing it will be heavy traffic. So I guess I'll decide if I'm going down in the next couple of days.

Today was very light on vendors and shoppers, but it STILL took all day to walk it! Picked up 4 NOS YJ rims early in the day and just a couple of odds and ends. Hopefully there will be more on list on sunday. I am really tired! :)

just got back from Englishtown and wasn't really impressed with the sales Ground Up had.... 160 for a set of 68 inner fenders instead of the catalogs 170. I guess you just save on shipping, but you need to drive to the swap meet and pay $8 to get in...
I guess I'm just cheap. just checked Rick's and they want 180 a pair + shipping.... ah maybe i'll pick them up tomorrow if it's not raining

KevinW
Sep 23rd, 06, 11:16 AM
Jim, you must have flew through there! I live 20 min away, got there at 7:30 yesterday and left at 4:00! Here you must be an hour away, got there and back by noon! :D I must be spending too much time looking through those rusty parts in the blue bins or milk crates that I see everywhere there :) See ya tomorrow!

JIM68
Sep 23rd, 06, 12:19 PM
Ya, I pretty much walked quickly thru everything, but the reason i finished early is because I didn't go to the other side of the race track. :)

I only had a couple of objectives... car dollies, engine cradle, and deals at Ground Up. I got the first 2 items from the generic vendors and didn't really do much at Ground Up but get rubber lower control arm bumpers. I considered the stock looking shocks, but I picked it up and saw a Made In Taiwan sticker. or was it china.... whichever it was i didn't want them.

I was thinking about going back before they close and get those inner fenders, cause I dont want to go if it rains tomo and I can still get i for free today. ;)

Sep 24th, 06, 06:33 PM
Yeah, my back was really cranky this morning and the threat of rain meant no way I could bring the 70 SS396(it needs tires bad). It would've been too painfull to sit in traffic with the manual trans truck as well. I hope to make it to the Jackson Outlets this Friday though.

Hey guys. It was great meeting some of you this morning at the show. I would of liked to hang longer but my 8 year old sons attention span and patience was about 15 minutes. If you all decide to get anything going in NJ count me in. Hopefully by next spring/summer my car will be done.

Thanks

Doug, the meet was for 10:00am. We hung around until around 10:30, then I bought the full floor GUP brought. What time were you there? I was loading up the floor around 11:00.

Jackson Outlets this friday is scattered thunderstorms, gotta keep a eye on it.

hello all I was also there on Friday beat to say the least!I was shocked at how dead that place was? Did sunday pick up any? My only deal was a Covan's dash new with Phantom autometers for 150$$$$....I stole that one and a set of rs wheel well molding from ground up....... I will be in carlise this friday also anyone attending that meet? love to hook up with some local jersey guys.... I have several camaros would like to get something going on here in NJ... I used to sponsor a Guy that ran the eastcoast camaro gathering....but health issues forced him to end the meet...that was a great get togather in itself...but now there really is nothing that I have found here in NJ....south nj that is...... keep me posted maybe we'll hook up Tom

Doug, there will be more meets, I was forced.... :) ummm, elected by the guys to try to keep the NJ chapter going. :) I have to think about how we want to do this. Any suggestions are welcome!

Tom, You knew Ben? I talked with him at great length about starting a Central NJ club many years ago, but he set me straight on all the headaches and legal issues, so the idea went on the back burner. How is he doing? I have not heard any updates on his condition. Can you tell me how your sponser thing works?

thedugan
Sep 25th, 06, 07:11 AM
I think this should be more informal then anything else.
ACA should be the Camaro club we all pay dues to and all that stuff.

My feeling is for a NJ chapter it should be someone is is responsible to organize meetings of the members at events throughout the year. Like we did on Sunday (too bad I can't tell time).

Swap Meets, car shows, drag race events, barbecue at someones house where we bring all our cars, etc..

Lets not get into having dues, newsletters, and such. it will never happen

I'm not sure who picked up the torch on that one, but it appears to have moved to Wilmington, DE at a place called Khanuaville. I think first Sunday in June.

Toyboy, that was a fat deal on the gauges.

BonzoHansen
Sep 25th, 06, 07:47 AM
We could think about getting together on a semi-regular basis, for example 1st Saturday every other month, or something like that. If there is a coinciding event to hook up at, all the better.

toyboy
Sep 25th, 06, 10:50 PM
Kevin.....yes I knew Ben...as a sponsor I really just did trophy's ect....helped judge, direct some people to parking spots ...you get the deal.....Ben now writes for a paper called crusin news....it is tied to Khanuaville in DE I heard that this was the first year that the camaros had gathered I don't know how well it went? I know Ben had some health issues and I assume had to back off some....he did some neat shows...but it is a bit of work..... I myself would also like to just be able to meet, hook up a few times a year etc....no fees no dues just some car runs like shore points and a car show or two somewhere....easy on our part and still get to connect with others.... It takes a lot of work with a full blown club.....email and a few posts on boards like this would work for just a normal get togather....count me in for sure.....

BonzoHansen...... It was a deal!.......from the same guy my buddy bought a flowmaster american thunder system in the box for 200. and a complete disc brake set up new inthe box for 225....this was about the only guy we bought from.....we cleaned him out!!! had a project that went south and sold the car the parts were just laying around I assume he got a good penny for the car with prices like that he lost his A## on the resale!

KevinW
Sep 26th, 06, 05:27 AM
Tom, thanks for the info. Glad Ben is still in the hobby.

On the Team GM thing, I also would like an informal group of enthusiasts just getting together, so it sounds like we have a consesus.

Some random thoughts from me:

nice weather cruises are good for the guys with cars. Guys without running cars (me too currently) will have to hitch rides :)

Guys with projects might be interested in overhaulin meet. Kind of a revolving 'git-er-done' party for the big resto items that need 2 or more people to make it easier. Also can provide the needed moral boost when a project is stuck (like mine has been stuck for 20+ years) :D

winter is always tougher to get together, kids in school, sports practice, cold weather.

spouses: Not sure about yours, but mine would freak out if a bunch of gearheads showed up at the house. Gotta go slow here.

Jackson outlets is a good place to start meeting, cause its free and there is shopping there for the wives. And a good way to introduce the spouses. This friday is not looking good for me. Last minute work thing and if I get there, I might be late.

If there are any local cruise nights that are good, suggest away. I would like to check out other areas.

Thats all from me. We need chapter forums! Scott, did you say you were talking to Al about that?

BonzoHansen
Sep 26th, 06, 07:17 AM
A meet up at a restaurant in the winter would be great.

I couldn't find my post on it, but I know I asked. But you just posted a thread on it, so I did agreed with you.

Sep 26th, 06, 07:39 AM
What's all this talk about wives? :D It would be cool to get a group together every once in a while. We used to have a group called CJCFO(Central Jersey Camaro and Firebird Owners) that would meet up the 2nd Tuesday of every month. It has fizzled for the most part but it's a good way to start something. Pick a common day/time so those wives can add it to the schedule. Dec/Jan will always be the toughest due to holidays and related spending. Lets hope this Friday stays nice for the Jackson Outlets cruise, that's a good place to meet up for starters.

Is there a link to info on the jackson outlet show?

Jeff H
Sep 27th, 06, 06:42 PM
I don't know of any link. But it's a cruise night, not a show. Pretty much anything pre 74 is allowed in but there's also some newer cars and trucks that show up. Looks like it's gonna be a little cool Friday night so bring a sweatshirt or jacket. It's located at the Jackson Outlet's which is the exit off 195 after Great Adventure if you're coming from the east. It's about a 1/4 mile up the road once you get off 195.
