Does anyone have any pics of an O2 sensor install on a first gen. Pics showing the sensor on the header collector, or exhaust pipe?
I'm looking for pics and opinions before I start drilling in my brand new Thorley Ti-Y's.

Joe & Jeff, My O2 is in Dougs longs tube headers, with a manual trans.
Hope this helps. ---Bill.

I put mine in the collector/reducer that way I wouldn't have to drill my ceramic coated headers (long tube). I have not had any problems with mine. Sorry but I can't tke any pictures of it, it is in Orlando getting a subframe change at Prodigy Customs until this weekend. I can try and send some pictures after this weekend if needed. Hope this might help you.

should still work further back. Sounds like something else is wrong.

I agree with Jody, it should work fine a foot back.

As Chris said, the reducer is an option. On my old 2.5" sys, I put it in the reducer (see pics). No holes or welding on the header, but possible problems with leaks at the collector/reducer and I have been removing my exhaust sys when I race it.

if it is not a heated sensor it might not be getting up to operating temp (about 1400 degrees)

true, but any good wideband is heated so it's not an issue. And a non wideband is almost worthless.

I have an Edelbrock system. I'm not even sure if it is a heated sensor or not. Anyone know anything about the Edelbrock units ?

they do not use a wideband O2, so not getting up to temp could be an issue.

Couldn't you put the O2 sensor on the rear (outlet) side of the muffler? There's no Cat Converter to worry about, and it seems to me it'd be more protected. And my setup is a 4 wire O2, so temperature shouldn't be a problem.
Opinions?
