i just got my new currie 9" with there explorer disk bake kit. the 12 bolt in my camaro has drums. before i make the swap can anyone recommend a part number or something for the rear brake lines? currie has a rear brake flex hose kit that comes with brackets, lines, and banjo fittings. am i going to need to cut and reflare my existing hard line to accept the new flex lines for the rear disks? also from digging around in some old posts some say i need to weld some tabs to the axle housing that retain the banjo fittings for the flex lines?
what the heck happened to buying a complete "bolt in" rear end? im starting to think the cool factor of this 9" is wearing thin.

ok i did some more digging i ordered the wrong rear disks!!!! im so mad! i ordered this kit
PT# CUR-6012B
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=CUR%2D6012B&N=700+400264+319165+115&autoview=sku
until i saw in the JEGS catalog this part number for Camaros
PT# CUR-6012GMF
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=CUR%2D6012GMF&N=700+400264+319165+115&autoview=sku
so did i screw up or what? looking at summits catalog they only list the housing and axle assembly THEY DO NOT LIST BRAKE OPTIONS! I thumb through JEGS catalog and what do you know, they list the axle assembles, third members, brake line kits, and disk brake kits including the correct notes saying "67-69 camaro and 68-72 nova" on the same page!
when i was shopping for my brakes on summits web site all the tech notes for the part said were "disk brakes for large housing ends" I looked on curries web site for the axle package i ordered and it didnt have any notes saying that i needed that brake package. also the part number for the camaro style rear brakes isnt even listed on curries web site. curries web site claims "This unit will allow for the use of any ABCS brake kit including the 11” drum brakes, 11” Ford Explorer disc brakes, or Wilwood disc brakes."
iv never made a return to summit let alone something that weighs as much as a rear disk setup. any input on that? this is going to set my build back quite a bit with all these parts swaps.

It sounds like to me you need to call Currie and try to get things figured out. You don't seem to be getting the information you need on your own, and that's a big issue with parts catalogs. As far as the brake lines go, quit reading old posts of what other people have done in the past...call Currie and get the info from the source, not the internet!
Tell them you are trying to put together a brake package for a '69 Camaro and make sure they understand that you have staggerd shocks. Check your axle offset and make sure it will work with those brakes (those work with a 2.5" offset only).
Then if you do need to return them, just suck up the shipping costs and use the cheapest carrier. It's just part of the game of mail order.

i called currie today. the brakes i ordered will not work with a 69 camaro because of the shock location. it was $33 to mail the brakes back to summit. the correct brakes are on back order from summit until the 25th. the currie tech line also told me it would be a chore to hook up the e brakes using there 69 camaro kit. he said the kit basically comes with two right side caliper brackets to make room for the staggered shocks. im already using a lokar parking brake so ill have to get creative with the routing of the brake cables. sounds like fun.

Hmm, I am looking at the currie 9" with the same set up as you or the moser 12 bolt with the Baer brake kit. The currie ends up being a bit cheaper due to shipping. But I think I might just stay with the 12 bolt so that it is a known quantity.

Yep. I'd consider getting a new yoke put on your driveshaft to accomodate the 1350 U-Joint, instead of the conversion type.

what about drive shaft length? i have a custom beefy drive shaft left over from when i was running a turbo 400. im currently using an aluminum drive shaft from inland empire drive line that i got for my muncie swap.
