I just recently bought a rotating assy to build my 383 and I posted once before and didn't get what i was asking for.The assy consists of an Eagle ESP cast 3.750 x 6'' 2pc rear seal crank,Scat Pro Series 6'' rods with 7/16 ARP rod bolts that have been polished on the I beams and on the big ends for stroker applications,SRP 5cc flat top Forged pistons, rings, rod and main bearings, a set of aluminum Pro Comp 210 runner 64 cc heads,7/16 studs angle plug Mallory Unalite Distubitor and wires and coil,an Edlebrock Performer RPM intake a 650 Dual line Holley, and I have a seasoned 350 4blt block with the 010-020 under the timing chain area.As I said I posted before as to what kind of cam to use in the thing and what kind of power and torque that I can expect,as before I said that I was looking at the Crane 282h 470lift,the Crane 284h 480 lift, the Crane Blue Racer 300/310-234/244 .488''/.510''lift,Comp Cams 280h-.480'' lift ,Comp Cams 292h- .501'' lift, and I was wanting to know if I would have to have a small base circle cam.I was wandering about the compression ratio also.
The car Is a 68 Camaro with a 350 turbo tranny with a manual valve body, shift kit, and about a 2800 stall,an 8.5'' rear with 3:42 Richmond gears and Posi unit,I don't know the weight of the car maybe you have a better idea than me.I contacted the people that I bought the Heads from and asked them about what kind of cam that they recomended and he called me back ane talked for a while and he told me with the 6'' rods and 5cc flat top pistons that the comp.ratio would be around 11.00 to 1 ,is there any way that I can run a thicker head gasket to get the comp.ratio below 11.00 to 1,
The name of the company I bought the heads from is White Racing in Bristol,Tenn. While I was talking with the guy at Whites he gave me a cam and specs and said that It would be a good fit for my application and said that my application with this cam should make around 440-460 hp all day long,Here is the specs to the cam,has anybody ever used this paticular cam before and have any input on it,,,, Crane 228H/320-6,Part #110551 284 dur,480'' lift 106 LSA ,I am going to be using 1.6 Roller rockers.I have looked in a lot of books and have not found this paticular cam listed any help is needed Thanks Camaro BOB
