Anthony, with today's gas octane ratings, your car may not like the standard timing settings as it did back in 69. Reading other posts and my experience with my 302, the car runs best at 36 total which is around 12 degree's initial. Yes pull and plug your vac advance when checking these and make sure your distributor is in good shape. Cap, rotor, points. Do you still have points. Set the dwell to 30 1st and then do your timing. These 302 engines are awesome but need a little more TLC then most.
Are you sure this is a 302DZ engine?

See, that was your problem. A 67 Mustang. That's why it took you 10 yrs to get back into it. You won't have that problem with a Camaro. You can't stay away from them that long. LOL

North Texas where? In Emory? Denton, Plano. Driving hiway 114 into upper Ft Worth hooks up there in a hurry.
