Ok, I used to be on here as Drag67Camaro, not sure if anyone remembers me :waving: , I never got around  to tying my frame on my 67...well due to minor rust and hard launches, my floorpan under the back seat is tearing in two directions....so i ask....can I weld in a new floor pan with the spring pockets and be ok? I do NOT want to back half the car...and all the chassis shops say thats what i'll need to do....but they're after the benjamins....so if worst comes to worst can I bolt in some Coil overs between the frame rails and throw a ladder bar under it without putting a new floor in? I'd probably piece this together, I want to try and keep it simple...and cheap ;) ...I also have some pics....Also maybe pics of setups you guys run? Thank you so much guys!!!

Adam

PS- In the meantime I bought a 01 ss m6 with a lid, catback, and dry kit...on 18's...ooo weee, hit a rock, oil pan shattered, fixed it...sold it for what i paid!!

oh sure, we remember you...

Back in the early 80's, I had a 406 powered 67 vert that put one of the spring eyes right THROUGH the floor. I had a piece of 1/4" steel plate welded in to the top of the floor, kinda bent to fit, and bolted the spring perch righ through it. Did both sides just in case.

It held.

Yea I took a lil bit of a vacation...worked for US41 Dragway as the starter...at 19 that is quite an experience...what do you think of the pics? does it look too rotted? the underneath isn't all that bad....do they sell a floor pan piece with integrated pockets? Thanks again!

and if i can get someone to tie the frame and put a 2x3 crossmember in for the ladderbars....get the coil over mounting bar for the frame rails...and maybe just patch the floorpan? I'm not really positive on how important that section of the pan is in relation to the rear frame....i liked my 01 better! jk

If that's minor rust, I'd hate to see what you call major rust!

The one piece floor includes the torque boxes and it will repair the floor damage. My floor looked similar, but there was more damage than just the floor. The front 12” of the frame rails were also rusted. At the time the full frame rail wasn’t available but I fabricate replacement sections from rectangular tubing. It was time consuming but not difficult. Are your inner rockers solid?

yes my inner rockers are very solid...i would also need to tie the frame ! Who sells a good one piece floor pan? I may only use part of it

Thank you very much!

I called Ground Up...they said only their Full floor comes with the spring plates...but they do sell the plates seperately...so maybe If I just buy that section of the rear floor and the plates I should be ok ?
