I AM RESTORING A 69 RS CAMARO Z28. I AM TRYING TO DETERMINE IF I NEED NEW LEAF SPRINGS OR AT LEAST HAVE THEM RESPRUNG. THEY LOOKED FINE WHILE ON CAR. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE CORRECT DIMESION FROM CENTER OF EYE TO CENTER OF EYE? i THINK THIS SHOULD BE THE PROPER WAY TO DECIDE IF THEY ARE IN FACT WORN. KEEP IN MIND I DO HAVE THEM OFF OF THE CAR.

They don't, per se, wear out, but rather just get tired and sag! I figure they are worn out when a leaf or two breaks here is all....

How low is the rear of your car??

And yes, they can be taken apart and re-rolled by a competent spring/chassis shop to reset their arch to raise the car up if you want to.

The Springs Are Off Of The Car Now. The Car Seem To Set Fine While On The Car. I Just Didn,t Think To Measure From The Ground Until Someone Ask If I Was Going To Replace The Springs.

I would put it back together and not worry about it!

And if you want to drag it, look for a GOOD set of slapper-bars that hit the bottom of the front spring eyes!!

And you will be fine, imho!!

Been there, done that!!!
